Harry Chapin, Some sort of update

Okay guys, I'm going to be straight about this post from the start: the real reason that I am posting at this second is because I noticed a link to my blog on Tim's web-log (thanks Tim). I'm not sure if a link forms automatically once you comment and and include your URL, but regardless, I might as well repay the favor (is this some sort of blog etiquette?). Tim is going on a really cool adventure in Tuscany, Italia (I think) this summer before going to take classes in Roma, so if you're interested at all in what its like to completely immerse yourself in a different culture, adventures in Italy or just awesome pictures, check out his web-log at

Tims Blog. Its hosted by Cornell

If I can ever figure it out I'll put a little link on the side of this page. I have no idea how to make this work.

If you stumble upon this and don't know, I have been spending the summer in Ithaca. I am taking classes this summer so that I can take the spring semester off in order to do a coop working program (work full time for a semester) at an environmental engineering firm. Also, once classes are over, I plan on doing full time research for a group on campus called "Agua Clara," which is an engineering project that researches, plans, develops and ultimately builds water treatment plants in small villages in Honduras. The plants don't run on water and are generally easy to use. It is an awesome project and hopefully I can update more on my work.
The summer in Ithaca is pretty cool. Its really nice out most of the time (when its not super humid) and I'm starting to meet people here. We play a lot of sports and go swimming in the gorges, when I don't have a prelim the next day. I really need to get a digital camera so that I can update with pictures and show you guys.

Finally, to the namesake of this post: Harry Chapin. He went to Brooklyn Tech (one of my highschool alma mater's rivals) and spent a little time at Cornell. He was a talented musician and a worldwide player in the fight against hunger. Sadly, he died at the age of 38. Read more about Harry's life.

Here is one of my favorite songs by him:

Just on my mind.

Until next time (soon)
